Work With Me

Walks, Talks & Public History for Organisations

I help organisations bring their histories, places, and collections to life through:

  • Guided walks for public audiences and private groups

  • Illustrated talks for staff networks, conferences and community organisations

  • Bespoke heritage and interpretation projects in collaboration with museums, archives and local authorities

With over a decade of professional heritage experience — including 10 years with the Interpretation Team at English Heritage — I blend rigorous research with creative, accessible storytelling.

I collaborate with museums, archives, historic houses, festivals, councils and learning teams to design engaging public experiences, from guided walks and talks to projects supporting exhibitions, sites and community programmes.

Whether you need a new angle on a story, a walk designed for a particular group, or help shaping interpretation for a place or programme, I focus on helping people connect with the past in ways that feel relevant, welcoming and memorable.

What I offer…

Bespoke Guided Walks

Created uniquely for your organisation, programme or site — blending deep historical insight with accessible, lively storytelling. These can explore:

  • LGBTQ+ histories

  • Local history and communities

  • Landscapes and rivers

  • Material culture, design and art

  • Urban development

  • The City of London

  • Or any thematic brief you’d like to explore

Public Talks & Lectures

Image-rich, audience-ready talks for:

  • Museums and galleries

  • Cultural festivals and learning programmes

  • Community groups (WI, U3A, The Arts Society)

  • Universities and lifelong learning audiences

My LGBTQ+ history expertise is well-established, and I regularly speak on queer art, identity, sexuality, domestic spaces, material culture and radical figures.

Organisations I’ve worked with

Mini Case Studies

English Heritage — London Walking Tours

I currently deliver my London walking tours monthly on a cyclical basis, as part of the offer for their very popular, and ever-increasing Members’ Events Programme. These events consistently sell out and have become a regular part of the Members’ Programme.

London Museum — Bespoke Public Walks

I was commissioned to design and deliver themed walking tours to complement their major exhibitions, including 'Secret Rivers’ and ‘Fashion City’, as well as two bespoke queer history tours and two supporting videos. These walks helped extend the reach of the exhibition programme and engaged diverse audiences with the themes.

Oscar Wilde Tours — Queer History Talks & Tours

I researched, wrote and delivered a series of hour-long talks on international queer cultural history, and developed and delivered a 10-day Queer Tour of England to an international audience. The 10-day tour continues to attract an international audience and has developed into a signature part of their UK offer.
