Nick has run fantastic walks for our English Heritage members over the years. His knowledge of London and his ability to entertain a group is unparalleled, and keeps members returning for his tours time after time. If you want to learn some of the secrets of London that are right under your nose, Nick is the man to show you them!

I have worked with Nick for many years starting back at the Museum of London when I was managing the public events programme. We commissioned him to create a series of walks to support our upcoming exhibition at the time which resulted in a sellout series of walks that needed to be repeated in order to meet demand.

Nick is a real craftsman when it comes to guided walks, he will take you through the streets of London and not only give you the historical facts along the way but will weave you a captivating story of the area, bringing to life the events and people that once trod those streets.

Nick is a total pleasure to work with. His enthusiasm, creativity and professionalism makes him top of his game and I couldn’t recommend him enough.

I have been on around a dozen walks with Nick and have enjoyed all of them immensely, in particular the Lost Rivers of London, and the Historic Pub Tour! His knowledge of the city is extensive and his style is humorous and engaging. He has become a firm friend and I look forward to many more walks as his repertoire develops, as it undoubtedly will - he has such a curious mind.

We loved the Soho tour so much we wanted to do it all over again, this time we explored Limehouse, including stopping off for a drink at The Grapes pub, which was an amazing spot and new to a lot of us. We discovered so much history about this area, which is only a short distance away from our hospital, and also added some new great queer bars to our list too!

Nick is an awesome tour guide - he is so knowledgeable and makes the tours super interesting and fun.

After joining a tour Nick led on secret rivers for the Museum of London, I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and informal style, that I booked 6 walks as a Christmas present for my husband. Nick was great to communicate with - us both being busy people - and we enjoyed every tour we went on with him. My personal highlight was the Thames path from Rotherhithe to Tower Bridge. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn about this wonderful city in a relaxed, friendly way.

I had a wonderful day out thanks to Nick. Despite having been born in London and having spent 40+ years living here, he still managed to surprise me, taking us to interesting locations I had not visited before and regaling us with detailed tales that indicated that he clearly knows what he’s talking about. He is extremely well researched and guided us with great enthusiasm and a clever humour. I highly recommend spending time in his company and look forward to my next opportunity to do so, which is hopefully very soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed the hidden river tour, the content was really interesting and Nick is very engaging. I loved that it took me to parts of London that I had never been before. I have also done his kings and queens tour which was brilliant, I loved the lesser known facts about the places they lived and shopped. Would highly recommend doing Nick’s tours.

I thoroughly enjoyed Nick’s tour of LGBT Soho. Within minutes the walk brought me to me places I’d never been before. The walk was well researched and documented, and we heard and learned about ordinary (but special) people and their stories. A good time was had by all, and I would recommend doing a tour with Nick to anyone who wants to see the other side of London.

So informative and funny. Nick’s walk made me look differently at the city I live in and thought I knew. His relaxed and friendly approach made me listen even more intently and discover the hidden gems that this city has hidden over time.
